NOTICE

Please take notice that on July 25, 2023, the Board of Trustees of the Village of Port Leyden amended a local law to abolish the position of Village Justice effective December 31, 2023.  Such law is subject to permissive referendum.  Anyone wishing to file a petition must do so within thirty days upon the adoption of such law with the Village Clerk.

NOTICE OF ADOPTION OF BOND RESOLUTION

SUBJECT TO PERMISSIVE REFERENDUM

PLEASE TAKE NOTICE that the Board of Trustees of the Village of Port Leyden, Lewis County, New York (the “Village”), at a meeting held on July 25, 2023, adopted a bond resolution, which is subject to a permissive referendum, that authorizes the issuance of $10,000,000 serial bonds of the Village to finance the reconstruction and improvement of the Village of Port Leyden Water System, including, the acquisition, construction or reconstruction of or addition to the water supply or distribution system, whether or not including buildings, land or rights in land, original furnishings, equipment, machinery or apparatus, or the replacement of such equipment, machinery or apparatus, required in connection therewith.  The period of probable usefulness is forty (40) years and the bonds are payable from amounts to be annually levied on all the taxable real property in the Village.  Pursuant to the New York State Environmental Quality Review Act and the regulations promulgated thereunder (“SEQRA”), the Village, as lead agency, has deemed the project to be a Type I Action and that the project will not have a significant impact on the environment.
